Commercial Meat Grinder Buying Guide

Select a grinder around the real raw material and finished product—not a headline capacity alone.

1. Define the input

Record meat species, boneless status, fresh or frozen condition, incoming temperature, fat and connective tissue range, and maximum feed-piece size. Confirm that the proposed machine is intended for that material.

2. Define the finished grind

List every required plate size and product. If more than one pass is needed, include intermediate handling and temperature control in the workflow.

3. Calculate useful output

State kilograms per batch, hour and shift. Useful capacity includes trimming, loading, plate changes, discharge, sanitation and planned stops. Ask suppliers to state the test basis behind output claims.

4. Review hygiene and safety

Request the disassembly and cleaning procedure, food-contact material description, access to auger and plate areas, and safe isolation steps. Buyers must confirm local requirements.

5. Run a representative trial

Agree on material temperature, feed size, plate, batch weight and acceptance criteria. Record output appearance, temperature change, retained material, operating time and cleaning time.

RFQ checklist

  • Raw material, condition and feed size
  • Grind sizes and acceptance points
  • Hourly and shift demand
  • Voltage, phase and installation space
  • Cleaning, spares, packing and delivery scope

Frequently asked questions

What should a meat grinder RFQ include?

List meat type and condition, piece size, temperature, required grind sizes, hourly demand, shift hours, voltage, cleaning method, destination and delivery scope.

Why test the buyer's raw material?

Fat, connective tissue, temperature and feed size can change throughput and product appearance. A representative test confirms the proposed setup.

How should capacity be compared?

Compare output under the same material, feed preparation, plate size and operating period, including loading and cleaning rather than an isolated peak figure.

Compare the checklist with the JQ 400 meat grinder, then send your application details.
